The weird thing is...

... Lyddie's drawing development with a computer mouse & MS Paint is exactly the same as her development with pen and paper.

I mean, you'd think she'd be better at one than the other - the pen, at a guess - but no. This is just like one she'd do by hand.

It's a picture of 'all of us in bed'. Not that we do all lie in the same bed! Unless we're watching a DVD, because the only player is in that room. The thing at the bottom is a flower, and she does know where the 'colour in' function is, but she prefers not to use it.

lol- you never know what your gonna stumble upon at 'Sometimes..'
O yes, we might venture up there sometime, as long as I see with my own eyes that Tech and co have returned in one piece (will have to check them over carefully!!!)
O yes, the blog post (this is a seroius blog, no?). Its interesting how L does the drawing thing the same with mouse and pencil- I think Joy does too, but then she's older and tends to think about what she's drawing in advance. I think F & F would tend to still be experimenting with the media more: Fred seems to continously change his computer pics by the filling paint pot and not have that much control over it- just watching what happens. I saw a little girl doing a similar thing at the group with watery paint- just playing with the colours and not trying to produce an end result. It's interesting how they have differing approches to art, isnt it?- I love it.

Yes it was a serious post Rosie :-) I'm fascinated by the developmental process of children's drawings and that mouse pic amazed me for its similarity to her pen creations. Hmmm... planning in advance what's going to appear in the picture. I guess that's a significant stage to reach? I'll look out for it happening in Lyddie and try to remember to blog when it does.

Re: Elaine's: I'm planning a Yorkshire-wide home-ed camp in her back garden, to take place when (if) summer does. This is the first she knows about it, but I think the element of surprise is important where crocodiles might be involved ;-)

PS Rosie your internet is working
