On Monday night my ex-sis-in-law and I went to see Carmen. And loved it. I'm not usually an opera fan, but this was sexy, exciting and compelling - and English! The linked site even plays the music, of which I'm now a great fan. Up until now the only vaguely related piece I could bear to listen to was Orff's Carmina Burana, which actually has nothing to do with Bizet's Carmen but now I'm a Bizet fan. Thanks, Mid Wales Opera, you converted me. I wish more companies would go to the trouble of translating pieces - it makes a huge difference.
