Blog gone

Too many people who know me in real life had my blog address, including one more person this evening (not my doing) for whom I started to think about editing it all. So I hit delete and it's all gone.

I do have all the posts saved (though not comments unfortunately) - two years' worth of my life! Minus 9 months. I could repost some I guess. Any requests?

In future this will be of necessity a much more academic space. I'll use it to record my children's education progress and my own political and philosophical thoughts about things, but there won't be much about the day-to-day happenings of our lives.

I guess I'll have to sort all the template stuff out tomorrow.

Ouch but completely understandable.

As you are so widely read, I wonder if you would consider posting re the monitoring issue. If you haven't a mo, please do lift any or all of the "What to Do" post at mine...improved as you see fit.

Thanks Carlotta, will do.

I'll probably repost all the educational and political stuff.

Got to re-do the links too! Been meaning to link to yours for ages but hadn't opened my template for about a year.

Peeped at it last night and it looked like gibberish *sigh*.

Oh luckily I also have this weeks post comments in my email box, so I can republish those too. I was halfway through a debate about foster care with Alison, lol. I don't want to lose that ;-)

Well Gill, I am glad you have come to a decision one way or another. FWIT I always print the posts from your blog that I like, even day to day ones so I have a nice sizeable record :o)
Am happy you will still be blogging stuff though xxxxxxx

Your choice and that is what is so marvelous about blogging. I haven't had a chance to read all the way back into your archives...so I'll just be getting to know you from here on:)

I think that is a shame, but in all the circumstances understandable.

Thanks all, but I'm still here! I've spent the day sorting through the old stuff and cataloguing it. 95% of it isn't worth republishing, or is stuff I want to keep private.

The rest is getting sorted into sections to be re-posted here and re-linked in proper sections from the sidebar. So the whole thing should be (what I consider to be) useful, worth reading, and much easier to navigate.

Some posts I'm going to re-publish primarily for my own benefit - conversations with the children. I'm so glad I blogged those! They do get forgotten, and times move on and you can't get them back. They'll all be here again in their own section.

Two things I'm missing: one is a post from September or October 2005 about autonomous learning which generated a great debate in the comments. Did anyone happen to keep a copy of that? *Looks at Lou hopefully*

And, apart from the past week or two I have no comments saved from any of the posts, which is rather a pity because often the comments are a much better read than the post itself. Anything along those lines that anyone might have would be appreciated.

If I hadn't been so tired last night I'd have saved more, but it didn't occur to me until today.

Be great if you do put the educational and political stuff back. Always enjoy reading it.

As to the template thingie, I do sympathise. I have only just started doing it again. It does take a while to publish so I tend to stick my fav blogs in Bloglines and link myself up that way. Not very good advertising for the blogs I enjoy though!

Have sent you two autonomous posts. If that is not it let me know approx content and I'll have a rummage. I saved a lot of your blog cos I found it really inspiring, but I did that waaaay back before you were even thinking of deleting it!

Yes, got that Jax - and even possibly the comments for that one. This morning's job is trawling back through email box to find all the comments I've still got and paste them onto the right posts in the right order. I might have two or three weeks' worth in there somewhere. *Sigh* hitting delete was soo easy compared to all this!
;-) Still glad I did it though, I feel much better for it.

Lou that's great news, thanks! There were two major posts about autonomous ed around that time. Somehow I managed to lose one but if you sent them both it'll be there :-)
