Compulsory registration *and* home visits?

That's what's in store for us according to this BBC news story.

What a conclusion to what has amounted to six of the most stressful months many of us have had. Lisa sums it all up with a masterful collection of quotes and comments here and Carlotta tells us that the dreaded Tony Mooney is about to be on BBC Breakfast.

Yes Tony, turn your phone off next time. *Rolls eyes*

I've also just heard Fiona Nicholson of EO and Peter Traves, the author of that infamous response from Stafford on Radio 4's Today programme, appearing to sing from the same hymn sheet.

Left his phone on? How rude and ignorant in a social setting...(snigger).

Oh hum, could have been worse I suppose (she comments despondantly). I guess the ball is in Balls-ups court now!

As there have been so many cases of education workers being done for child porn, access to kids on their own...I don't think so!

He did! It was confiscated by one of the presenters, and he was publicly reprimanded.

Anyway, anyone who home educates autonomously apparently has nothing to worry about... because Mr Mooney said so. *Rolls eyes AGAIN* This is the same Mr Mooney who didn't, 2 years ago, seem to know the difference between learning and 'work'.

Hear hear Gina.

Poor Tony, who doesn't have any powers to see children whatsoever if parents decide to say "no". It's just awful.

Psyching myself up to listen to the R4 interview, how on earth PT ended up on there I have no idea. Ugh.

Home visits...meh..should only be carried out by people trained in the knowledge of all methods of home education.
Otherwise they are stuffed with us! Leilani's education is totally different than Axl's. She is 11 and neurotypical, he is 5 and aspergers.
How is 1 person going to know how to deal with different methods in one family setting?
It'll take at least a yer before Axl will let anyone near him...unless they have a chicken or a goat with them.
